![]() If you have already built it, you will need a few hours only to retrofit the base frame. ★ Instructions for retrofitting a built up Ecto-1 So when you build from a new box you can mostly stick to the numbering of the bags and it will need hardly any extra time at all. ![]() My instructions will lead you to a complete Ecto-1 from the beginning with detailed step by step instructions and I tell you where exactly to continue in the original instructions. Roof top equipment moves and steering wheel too. So all the gadgets and small decorations inside the ecto stay untouched. It took me a few days to figure that one out! Inside, the seat still looks the same (almost, LEGO made it two seats but in reality it's a bench so I 'corrected' that) and the car frame is stable, but now you can swap batteries from underneath. So I completely rebuilt the car frame and the front seat around the Battery. I saw some onther builds, they all put the batteries into the trunk, no way! I like all the little details back there and wouldn't want to block the gadgets or even the view. It is slim and dark bluish gray so it replaces that kardan drive below the front seat perfectly. It can act like a servo, because it has an internal position sensor. That thing is just made to be used for the steering. This is the only Ecto-1 Motorization using LEGO's Powered Up Large Technic Motor. This build is the least invasive motorization for the Ecto-1 you can get, yet fully functional. Lights kit installed see below, because it is not in the video.
